英语口语水平测试
英语口语水平测试（Spoken English Level test，简称SELT）是由英语国家外教和口语测试者进行一次系统、有序的英语交谈，经过科学、客观、真实的评测，得出英语口语等级报告的一个过程。它可以口语测试者一步到位了解到：1.英语处于怎样的水平？2.已具备的英语口语技能中，优势和症结分别在哪里？3.如想想继续提升英语水平，需要加强哪方面的练习？4.根据个人在学业/事业上对英语技能的需求，应制定怎样的学习计划？
测试重点

测试方式与等级
SELT是通过电话连线，进行1对1纯英语交流的形式进行测试。测试结果共分5段10级，即准备级（0级）、基础级（1-3级）、中级（4-6级）、高级（7-9级）、专家级（10级）
测试评分标准
SELT评分标准借鉴雅思（即国际英语语言测试系统）口语考试的评分方法，在评估量表上进行评分，各项评估量表，均有严格的数字化评分标准，例如在“对英语理解能力评估量表”上，评分标准如下：

9分 Expert User. Has fully operational command of the language: appropriate, accurate and fluent with complete understanding. 成绩极佳，能将英语运用自如，精确、流利并能完全理解。
8分 Very Good User. Has fully operational command of the language with only occasional unsystematic inaccuracies and inappropriacies. Misunderstandings may occur in unfamiliar situations. Handles complex detailed argumentation well. 非常良好，能将英语运用自如，只是偶尔有不连接的错误和不恰当，在不熟悉的状况下可能出现误解，可将复杂细节的争论掌握的相当好。
7分 Good User. Has operational command of the language, though with occasional inaccuracies, inappropriacies and misunderstandings in some situations. Generally handles complex language well and understands detailed reasoning. 有能力运用英语，虽然在某些情况有时会发生不准确、不适当和误解，大致可将复杂的英语掌握的不错，也理解其全部内容。
6分（澳大利亚移民&英国留学分数线） Competent User. Has generally effective command of the language despite some inaccuracies, inappropriacies and misunderstandings. Can use and understand fairly complex language, particularly in familiar situations. 大致能有效的运用英语，虽然有不准确、不适当和误解发生，能使用并理解相当复杂的英语，特别是在熟悉的情况时。
5分（加拿大移民&新西兰移民分数线） Modest User. Has partial command of the language, coping with overall meaning in most situations, though is likely to make many mistakes.Should be able to handle basic communication in own field. 可部分运用英语，在大多数情况下可应付全部的意思，虽然可能犯下许多错误，在本身领域内应可掌握基本的沟通。
4分（英国预科分数线） Limited User. Basic competence is limited to familiar situations. Has frequent problems in understanding and expression. Is not able to use complex language. 水平有限，只限在熟悉的状况下有基本的理解力，在理解与表达上常发生问题，无法使用复杂英语。
3分 Extremely Limited User. Conveys and understands only general meaning in very familiar situations. Frequent breakdowns in communication occur. 水平极有限，在极熟悉的情况下，只能进行一般的沟通理解。
2分 Intermittent User. No real communication is possible except for the most basic information using isolated words or short formulae in familiar situations and to meet immediate needs. Has great difficulty understanding spoken and written English. 只属于偶尔使用英语，除非在熟悉的情况，使用单词和简短的短句表达最基本的信息，在说写方面有重大的障碍。
1分 Non User. Essentially has no ability to use the language beyond possibly a few isolated words. 只能说几个单词
测试的权威性与科学性
理论支持：基于英国牛津交际法语言教学专家布伦特（C. J. Brumfit）教授和约翰逊（K. Johnson）教授的理论，强调以实际交流为主的英语教学与测评方法。人工评测相对一般测评软件更具可靠性和准确性：由一批资深外教组成的一个专门为学员提供测试服务的小组，不仅是英语教研精英，更具备资深的英语语言评量、问题诊断、教学指引等能力。其测评结果的科学性、可靠性、准确性和全面性，是一般测评软件不可比拟的。多人同时评断，提升测试结果的公正、严谨度：为了使等级测试更公正、权威、严谨，使测试报告不会成为个人的主观臆断，每一次测试，都由5位口语测评小组人员共同参与，以与学员进行直接交流的教师为主，成立一个临时组合团队，在10分钟测试时间结束后，5位测评人员分别通过录音对学员的英语运用能力进行分析、诊断，根据语言测评标准对被测者的词汇、语法、理解、发音、流利度和连贯性等项目进行打分和建议，最终，取其平均分值作为测试结果，并将英语能力提升方案纳入等级测试报告中，至此完成对一位口语测试者的英语水平测试工作。
测试结果的“暂时可靠性”
由于学员在接受测试时，所发挥出来的口语水平可能与平常情况下可能有所差异，另外由于测试时间的限制，以及测试老师的风格，都对测试结果具有一定程度的影响，因此，测试结果只能反映学员在接受测试当时的口语水平，具有“暂时可靠性”。可为其继续深造、学习英语提供数据参考，不可作为能力选拔的标准。
